Internet Dating Safety:
1. Never use your real name, city, or workplace for or as part of your username.
2. Honesty is always the best policy; keep pictures, physical descriptions, job titles, etc. current. After all, you are looking for someone to love you for who you are now.
3. YOU ARE ALWAYS ALLOWED TO SAY NO! Do not be embarrassed to contact your local law enforcement with local problems or our administrator (see link on bottom of any page)with cyber bullying, stalking or any other cyber crime.
4. Do not do ANY BANKING for someone else online!! Contact us immediately if someone asks you to do this-keep all correspondence regarding this attempt and we will launch a full investigation!
5. Make up a special IM account for possible mates; this way you chose a handle that does not contain personal information.
6. Never give out personal information to anyone you have not met in person, seen proof of their identity, and that you don't trust completely.
7. Take your time, get to know the person online before exchanging phone numbers. Use a public phone and set up a time to call for your first phone call.
8. Always meet your date in a public place for the first few dates. Don't have them pick you up or meet you at and your home or workplace.
9. It is always a safe idea for ladies to take a friend with them on the first date; it also gives you another perspective on your new friend.
